Things I know about ENDOSULFAN !!!
It is a generic pesticide which is used by India and many other agricultural economies for last 30 years or so.
70% of it is produced and consumed in India.
This is going to be banned globally because, district of kasargode have been hit heavily by this pesticide. Due to over head usage of pesticide in the district for decades.
No other states or district in the country have had this problem in this scale.
European union have very less share in the world market of pesticide. The replacements for the Endosulfan is a patent product from Europe. This is of high cost and makes a shift in concept of agriculture in big agricultural economies like India if Endosulfan is banned.
The replacement for Endosulfan will cost a considerable amount of increase in the agricultural input for the farmers.
[Replacement pesticides : Imidachloprid 2,000/litre, Thiamethoxam Rs 3,200/litre and Coregen Rs 700/litre] Endosulfan cost our farmers Rs 250/litre.
Do we need to import pesticide from Europe and give control of our agriculture to Europe?
Or make the usage of Endosulfan safe.
Need to check what really happened in Kasargode. In the sense who have actually killed innocents of Kasargode. Since it is really heart breaking for even those who see their sufferings.
No fellow being can withstand the sufferings which we saw in Kasargode.
Something incredible and really bad have happened in Kasargode which have made them suffer like this.
Is there anyone amoung us to actually analyse what have happened to the farmers of Kasargode and why the same is not happeneing to other districts which uses Endosulfan. Big big people might have done analysis and researches of this but I really dont know what/who is really playing in the middle. Is it THE EUROPEAN PESTICIDE LOBBY or THE INDIAN PESTICIDE LOBBY????
Whomever is playing they are thinking of mass killing of people for their own interest.
If it is European lobby then they are manufacturing mass farmers' suicide in India and if it is Indian lobby then it is simple farmer massacre with poison.
Really confused and sad.
